How to dye antique black

Jeepers, I've been busy! I have taken pictures and plan to write a step by step instruction guide for how to "Grunge" colors and get some good antique blacks. I just dyed a new batch of grunge wool and antique black and took pictures for every step.

I have to finish up some wholesale hang tag orders and then I will post the directions and photos within the next few days. Please bookmark my blog and come back and keep visiting. I'm just so swamped finishing up hang tag orders before the hand dyed wool season really kicks off.

I appreciate any feedback anyone might have, or if they have questions on how to dye wool, PLEASE, leave a comment or email me and I will add it to my list and "Git er done!!". :)

The Liatris (Texas state flower or Kansas Gay Feather), wild sage, native prairie grasses and sunflowers are all perfect for picking and drying now. I hope to get out on my land and get some picked and hung to dry so I can start making some prim dried flower door hangers and wreathes. I'll try to post some pictures of our fields in the next few days also.

Keep me bookmarked and keep checking in!!

To do list

50 yards of wool dyed and ready to ship when sold:
The cutest boy ever - I'm a little biased. :)
One of the many scrapbooks from my grandmother - she has been a world traveller since she was a small child and has a ton of scrapbooks for all her many travels - I'm so lucky to have them all!

The new laser jet hubby bought me for our anniversary:

Hang tags designed, printed and ready to cut and finish:
Mordecai "cutting a rug" dancing to swing:
Here is the wool I need to cut - just a small portion of it.

My father-in-law also gave me a whole bunch of old record albums - Frank Sinatra, Swing Bands, old country. My son, Mordecai LOVES swing music. He's been "cutting a rug" whenever he hears the Swing Records being played.

I have designed and printed a lot of new hang tags and now I have to cut them out and attach hang strings - then take photos, write ads, post ads. More of my NOT favorite things to do.

My husband, Bob, got me a new laser jet printer. Now I have two of them! Yeah - They print about 1000 pages of full color hang tags before you have to buy new ink. I'll be busy designing new tags and have several wholesale orders to print and finish.

I also have lots of my grandmother's scrapbooks to finish scanning for more hang tags. I think I'll be busy for months. :) I'm glad. It gets my mind off of the world and all the scariness in it. Sometime in all this I need some hooking time - sleep is out. LOL.

And now I'm off to do some "real" work.

This is my first post. I finally decided to jump on the blog bandwagon. I have just dyed over 50 yards of wool and now I'm fighting the boredom of listing all the ads to 4 different web sites. JEESH. Writing the same ad for each of my 53 stock colors 4 times, even if it is copying and pasting mostly, is TEDIOUS. And now I'm starting a blog!! Another new thing to learn and tweak out. :) I guess I just don't like to be idle for very long!
